Onlea and LX Labs Projects

Onlea is an Edmonton-based digital learning studio dedicated to removing barriers to knowledge through human-centered, accessible education.

As a Multimedia Designer at Onlea, I operated at the intersection of graphic design, video production, motion graphics, and user experience (UX). The tools I used included Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Articulate Rise 360, and Storyline.

Working alongside instructional writers and subject matter experts, I ensured every deliverable was aligned with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards so that learning remained inclusive, engaging, and seamless on any device.

My primary focus was translating complex, dense topics—ranging from advanced engineering algorithms to sensitive social issues—into intuitive, visual media.

  • Content Creation: Build graphics, illustrations, animations, and videos for websites, apps, ads, and games.

  • Media Integration: Combine text, images, video, and audio into smooth presentations.

  • Collaboration: Meet regularly with clients and company stakeholders to plan projects, discuss goals, and review feedback.

  • Editing and Troubleshooting: Fix design flaws, code issues, or layout problems and update content based on feedback.

  • Optimization: Ensure designs work well across different devices, platforms, and accessibility standards.

Core Responsibilities

Featured Projects & Production Highlights

  • The Métis Nation of Alberta: Served as the Design Lead and sole producer for the Tobacco Reduction Program, executing all custom illustrations, narrative storyboards, and motion graphics.

  • University of Alberta: Handled multi-camera video production, audio editing, and motion graphics for online academic courses, including Inspired to Dream: Becoming a Leader and 21st Century Energy Transition.

  • Canadian Women’s Foundation: Met regularly with clients and company stakeholders to plan projects, discuss goals, and review feedback.

  • MathWorks (MATLAB & Simulink Fundamentals): Worked on a small, dedicated multimedia team over the course of a year to interpret complex engineering and mathematical concepts. Recreated and animated technical drawings, mathematical systems, and mechanical processes—such as quadcopter dynamics—into clear visual explainers.

  • AREA learn: Co-produced large-scale professional certification programs, developing interactive e-learning modules using Articulate Rise and Storyline.

Whether setting up multi-camera shoots or keyframing complex motion pieces, my goal at Onlea was to make education feel effortless. By combining adult learning principles with strong visual storytelling, I helped turn dense educational frameworks into accessible digital experiences that inform, empower, and inspire action.
